Welcome to Indonesian Language Program - Universitas Terbuka

Indonesian Language Program (ILP) or Program Bahasa Indonesia untuk Penutur Asing (BIPA-UT) is a certificate program for non-native speakers of Indonesian language. It is designed and administered by Universitas Terbuka (Indonesia Open University) to facilitate non-native speakers who wish to learn and improve proficiency in the language, yet, without having to physically attend the conventional classroom.

The program is delivered online, including its registration, payment of tuition fees, learning materials, tutorials, and learning assessment. The program’s goal is to facilitate students to learn and improve their Indonesian language proficiency, in spoken and written forms, and in formal and informal contexts of situation. Special attention is particularly given to the students’ mastery of daily and common expressions and some cultural features inherent to the language use.

Positioning e-learning in an open and global education arena

Universitas Terbuka Indonesia (UT) will be organizing local event on a webinar entitled “Positioning e-learning in an open dan global education arena”. The speaker will be Prof. Robert Goodwin (from University of Maryland University College who will be in his visit to UT).

The webinar will be held involving the INHERENT Network (an intranet which connects all public universities and some reputable private universities in Indonesia)The webbinar is scheduled (and recorded) on Thursday, 13 March 2013, at 09.30 (GMT +7) Jakarta time until noon.

The participants will be UT’s staff in both the Head Quarter and regional offices, and lecturers of other universities. We also welcome other participants to join in.

Tian Belawati, M.Ed, Ph.D., was inaugurated for a second term (2013-2017) by the Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud), Prof. Mohammad Nuh.
